Venture capital funding could be doubled in EU budget

EVCA, 14. February

The European Union budget has earmarked €125 billion for competitiveness and growth, a 37 percent increase. The Horizon 2020 and COSME packages, which provide the venture capital budget, are part of that. Early indications are the venture capital provision will be up to double the last budget. The EVCA remains deeply engaged on this as the budget still needs European Parliament approval after last week’s deal by national leaders.
