Budapest, May 15, 2025 – The Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HVCA) today presented its prestigious Harsányi Award to Michael Simon, recognising his outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship and innovation. The award ceremony took place during the 0100 Emerging Europe 2025 conference, one of Central and Eastern Europe's leading gatherings for private equity and venture capital professionals.
Named after Nobel laureate John Harsányi, the HVCA Harsányi Award celebrates individuals who have significantly advanced the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Michael Simon, a seasoned investor and entrepreneur, has been instrumental in fostering innovation and supporting startups across the region.
Michael Simon brings over three decades of experience in building technology companies and driving investment innovation. As founder of Uproar Entertainment, he led the company to a successful public offering on NASDAQ, achieving a market capitalization exceeding $500 million. As co-founder of Fathom Technology, he contributed to its merger with EPAM Systems, which went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012 and reached a peak market valuation over $38 billion by 2021.
Simon also co-founded LogMeIn, serving as CEO for 13 years; under his leadership, the company went public in 2009 and became a global provider of cloud-based services, reaching a peak market cap of $7 billion. Currently, as CEO of NDVR, Simon is focused on redefining wealth management through technology-driven, personalized investment strategies.
In his acceptance speech, Simon highlighted the pivotal role Budapest has played in his career, stating, "To the extent I've had any success in my career, I put it down to the incredible teams right here in Budapest – a city that has never failed to deliver.”
