Levente Zsembery
Chairman
Levente is the CEO of X-Ventures and he was the Chairman of the HVCA from 2015-2018. Before joining the team he gained experience as investment banker at UniCredit CAIB, director of capital market transactions at Hungarian State Motorway Management Company. Since 1996, he has been a full-time and part-time lecturer at the Institute of Finance and Accounting of the Corvinus University of Budapest. Levente worked as an independent adviser for different institutions like the Budapest Stock Exchange, the Hungarian Development Bank, the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority but also worked on the World Bank’s project for the development of the Hungarian Student Loan System. Levente graduated and got his PhD degree at Corvinus University of Budapest.

Lenard is a founding partner and head of the advisory team of Growth financing / M&A of the international advisory firm Absolvo Consulting – Proventis Partners CEE. Having 15+ years experience, he is an advisor of local and CEE regional scaleups and growing startups in technology & innovation-driven industries in core business areas such as business planning, growth strategy formulation and execution, growth financing and full scale buy-side and sell-side M&A. He graduated at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and then followed his business studies by strategy, financing and marketing specializations at MIT and Wharton BS. Active publisher in core business media, experienced speaker and facilitator of workshops, lecturer at Hungarian and international business and technology universities in corporate finance, business strategy and entrepreneurship-related topics, mentor/speaker at several regional VC/PE, entrepreneurship and startup programmes. Former board member of the Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HVCA), founding member of the Hungarian Business Angel Network (HunBAN).

András Szombati

András has over 20 years of venture capital experience, having accumulated a significant track record in investing in Hungarian high-growth SME-s. In his first VC Fund under the umbrella of Concorde Investment Banking group, he managed five start-ups and realized four successful exits. In 2010 together with two other VC professionals, he established Primus Capital Alapkezelő Zrt; a fully independent fund management company with 25M EUR under management. While at Primus he managed four early-stage companies and helped establish one of the first early-stage business accelerators in Hungary, iCatapult Zrt. with the intention to help regional start-ups to roll-out on the North-American market. Parallel to being an active VC investor, András has been on the Board member of the Hungarian Venture Capital Association for four years between 2011-15. After exiting from Primus Fund Management Zrt. He is now advising Solus Kockázati Tőkelap Zrt., and acts as a senior VC expert in residence for Input program.
