HVCA Issues H1 2025 Investment Monitoring Report – Stable Investor Interest Underpins the First Half of 2025
Press release, Budapest, 1 October 2025 – The Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HVCA) today published its Investment Monitoring Report for the first half of 2025, offering a detailed overview of Hungary’s venture capital and private equity market. The data underpinning this analysis was supplied by HVCA members, and the review covers trends in investments, exits and fundraising within the domestic market.
Key findings for H1 2025
- 47 investments closed during the period
- 32 divestments took place, indicating active investment cycles and increasing market maturity
- The total capital deployed exceeded HUF 17.5 billion, signalling sustained investor interest in Hungarian ventures
Investment activity concentrated on three key segments:
- Business and industrial services
- IT and electronics services
- Agriculture
“Investors continue to seek opportunities in sectors that promise long-term stable growth,” noted HVCA Chairman Balázs Haszonics, CEO of Lead Ventures. Although the number of deals remains moderate, the scale of deployed capital demonstrates that the Hungarian VC/PE ecosystem remains active and ready to allocate larger sums to companies with growth potential.
The strong divestment activity further underscores that earlier investments are reaching maturity and delivering returns for funds. “Our data reflect the adaptability of the Hungarian venture and private equity market under economic pressure. Investor confidence remains solid, especially in segments where Hungarian companies can offer internationally competitive innovation,” finished Balázs Haszonics.
